Adding new order part...

Featured Replies

I think I may have a layout problem. I have a table "Order", and a table "OrderParts". When I do a script step to add an OrderPart to Orders it works just fine. I get another OrderPart. My problem is, once I get a new order part, that's all I can do with it. My Layout continues to edit the first OrderPart instead of editing the newly added OrderPart. I have used Portals, some script steps, and have had no luck. If anyone could give me a clue I would be greatful.

I think my main problem might be that attacted to my OrdersTable are other tables such as "color" "size" and "style". These are the type of fields that I need the new information inserted in.

I have attached my database for more information. The Layout that I am using is "Work Orders(Detail)" and I am checking it with "Customer" Orders"

I haven't see your files and would have a look in the evening once I reach home. Can you check if your relationship from order table to orderparts allows to create new records in the related table? I can see we can easily achieve what you are trying, by using portals.

Yes, the Orders Table can create records in the orders table.

As far as portals, I figured there was a way to do it, but I can't figure it out.

I have put two related tables in a portal. The Table "PrintDesign" which is attached to OrderPart and "LineItems" which is also attached to OrderPart. But I just can't get them to update the newly created OrderPart. They still somehow point to the first Created OrderPart.

By the way, thank you for responding so quickly. I appriciate your help.

Give me some time till evening today. I would send a solution and you can check it tomorrow.
