Does anyone know why FM exports squares "" in place of returns in text fields? I am exporting html and firefox shows the squares, most annoying.

If it is an FM7 bug, does FM8 fix this?

returns are end-of-record delimiter in virtually all export formats, so if FM would put a return in, a new record would start a new record right after it.

One field in FM is just part of a record, even if you export only that one field. In order to export the the records, there can be only one return and that is at the end of the record, not inside the exported field data. FM replaces returns with vertical tabs in order to make this work.

You can post process your files with the OS scripting of your liking to replace all vertical tabs with CR, LF or CR/LF.
