Newbies jcorbeil Posted November 16, 2001 Newbies Posted November 16, 2001 I'm performing a FileMaker implementation. The old DB was an Act! db which they had set up using 'groups.' The groups allowed them to fax all clients located in, say, Kentucky or whatever. The way this was done was by going into Groups, Inserting a new group, then importing all entries that matched a specific criterion. Is there a way to set up groups along these lines in FM? The 'groups' in FM are quite different... Jesse
LiveOak Posted November 16, 2001 Posted November 16, 2001 Unlike ACT!, FM is a general purpose database program. You can implement "groups" in MANY ways. The simplest is just to find the records that meet the criteria you wish. Another is to create a field and manually assign each record to a group by typing in a group number or name. -bd
danjacoby Posted November 18, 2001 Posted November 18, 2001 Speaking of ACT! ... Is there a website where I can download a demo version? I've been hearing about this program, but don't know who makes it. TIA, Dan
