R2D2 Posted December 28, 2005 Posted December 28, 2005 Hi ! I have a problems with fields that don't disappear like similar other fields when they should. Please see attachement... There is 15 portals which each shows information of their relasionships. In blue boxes there is "callsigns" (A1, A2, etc). When there is something to show the callsigns appear in portals. The order of callsigns can be changed. If I remove whole callsign, in some portals all information disappears as it should. But there are some portals where empty blue box still remains. It works perfectly in other portals. I have tried to copy correctly working portals and changed the relationships correctly. I also have tried Bring front/send back. None of these doesn't help. Now I have no more ideas what causes this. Ok, the solution works, but it doesn't look pretty... : Any ideas ? Arttu
comment Posted December 28, 2005 Posted December 28, 2005 It's hard to say without seeing the file. My guess would be that after duplicating a portal, you have changed the relationship for the portal, but not the field inside the portal.
R2D2 Posted December 29, 2005 Author Posted December 29, 2005 Thanks for your quick reply ! Yes, I did duplicate the portals, but as far as I understand, I have updated the fields inside also. I attach here the files to see (I'm a bit ashamed to show how amateur they look... . The primary file to start is "OPS_center". Arttu OPS.zip
comment Posted December 29, 2005 Posted December 29, 2005 Some of your relationships have "Allow creation of records..." turned on, others not. In general: if you place a graphic inside a portal, it will show only if there are related records. BUT if the relationship is allowed to create portal records, the last portal row always has a "phantom" record waiting to be filled out - and in such case, the graphic will be shown.
R2D2 Posted December 30, 2005 Author Posted December 30, 2005 Thank you so much !! That did the trick. I wouldn't have noticed that myself. Arttu
