SteveB Posted December 31, 2005 Posted December 31, 2005 This used to work in v8.01, but not in the updater: I used a repeating field with Tabbed layouts to return to the last layout. Repetition 1 on Layout #1, etc. Then do a GoTo Field(repetition #). This causes a transfer to the wrong tab. The solution is to define separate fields and not use a repetition. I reported this to FMI. Steve
flapjacks Posted December 31, 2005 Posted December 31, 2005 I used repeating fields one time. Two weeks later changes to seperate records. When Ray says don't use repeating fields I have to agree. Wasted about three hours. John
SteveB Posted December 31, 2005 Author Posted December 31, 2005 Repeating fields have their place: this worked fine until the clowns messed it up in the updater. Steve
flapjacks Posted January 1, 2006 Posted January 1, 2006 I thought so also. Until about two weeks ago. Boy was I wrong. They say they always get you in trouble, glad it only took a few weeks. Pain in the ass. John
bruceR Posted January 3, 2006 Posted January 3, 2006 I have a hard time believing this. How are you specifying the repeat to go to? Got a sample file? It still works correctly for me in 8.02.
SteveB Posted January 3, 2006 Author Posted January 3, 2006 Yeah, I had a time believing it since it worked fine in v8.0 Advanced. I created a set of repetitions that would only be used for this purpose. Assume 6 tabs; 6 repetitons, one on each layout; all 1x1 pixel; non-enterable. Do a GoTo Field(repetitions,#). At least a couple will go to the wrong tab. I couldn't believe it, so I defined a new set of repetitions that couldn't possibly have existed previously on any of the tabs, and tried again. Still messed up on the same tabs. Steve
bruceR Posted January 5, 2006 Posted January 5, 2006 (edited) So the example file available here doesn't work? Edited January 5, 2006 by Guest
SteveB Posted January 5, 2006 Author Posted January 5, 2006 As I said, it worked in v8.0 Advanced but not after I ran the v8.2 updater. Steve
