Dana G Posted January 9, 2006 Posted January 9, 2006 I was wondering if it is possible to have a blank username field when the log on window pops up? It currently displays the name that is set in the Preferences. (I think that's where it comes from.) The usernames that are set up for our staff uses things like 'sgaadmin' and 'sgauser' and it's an inconvenience for each person to have to delete their name each time they want to log into a database.
Wim Decorte Posted January 9, 2006 Posted January 9, 2006 Ask your Windows admin guy to write a small Windows logon script to write the current user's windows logon name to the filemaker preference section of the registry. Or alternatively, use External Authentication if you're an all Windows shop and the users will not be prompted for credentials at all.
