NotPro Posted January 9, 2006 Posted January 9, 2006 How do I insert special characters such as the copyright symbol, something similar to @, but with the character c inside? AS well as the registered symbol?
Lee Smith Posted January 9, 2006 Posted January 9, 2006 Insert it where? Calculation, text field, Example of what you are trying to do please? Lee
NotPro Posted January 10, 2006 Author Posted January 10, 2006 Hi Lee, Insert this special character not in calculation or field, but a text statement. Example, "Copyright X 2006", and I would like to insert the special character in place of X in the statement above. Thanks NotPro (yet)
Lee Smith Posted January 10, 2006 Posted January 10, 2006 can't you just type it in? If I'm understanding you correctly, you want to make this: Copyright X 2006 this: copyright © 2006 If you are pasting, or typing, © into the Text Field, you shouldn't have a problem. If you are inserting it via using a calculation, you might need to enclose it in quotes, or use a Global text field and place it in it? BTW, © is "Option G" on the Mac, probably "Alt G" on Windows. HTH Lee
NotPro Posted January 11, 2006 Author Posted January 11, 2006 Hi Lee, I wish I could just type the special character, but having screened through the entire keyboard,I couldn't find that special character. "Alt G" on Windows didn't help either. However, because of your suggestion, I think I know how to insert that special character on Windows, I believe you have to use the "Alt (number for ASCII character)" combination to get the right character. Maybe there is an easier way? Thanks anyway. NotPro
Lee Smith Posted January 11, 2006 Posted January 11, 2006 Windows always seems to confuse things. You are in Luck, there are a lot of experts on this list that do use Windows, and so I'm sure that one of them will let you know if there is a better or easier way. Lee
