Today is the first day that the entire company has used FM8. Some individuals in are getting this message when attempting to open the server hosted files.

"Filemaker cannot share or be a client of a file because networking stack could not be initialized."

What the heck does that mean? What can I do to fix it?

If you're sure the Windows FireWall is not on, and that no other software (Norton, McAfee, ZoneAlarm,...) is otherwise blocking network traffic then you might need to look at this:

and reinstall the TCP/IP protocol.

I was able to get this problem fixed by uninstalling FM on those computers and reinstalling. I guess something must have happened during the install. Weird but I'm happy now!
