Dana G Posted January 9, 2006 Posted January 9, 2006 Today is the first day that the entire company has used FM8. Some individuals in are getting this message when attempting to open the server hosted files. "Filemaker cannot share or be a client of a file because networking stack could not be initialized." What the heck does that mean? What can I do to fix it?
Wim Decorte Posted January 10, 2006 Posted January 10, 2006 If you're sure the Windows FireWall is not on, and that no other software (Norton, McAfee, ZoneAlarm,...) is otherwise blocking network traffic then you might need to look at this: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/811259#kb3 and reinstall the TCP/IP protocol.
Dana G Posted January 10, 2006 Author Posted January 10, 2006 I was able to get this problem fixed by uninstalling FM on those computers and reinstalling. I guess something must have happened during the install. Weird but I'm happy now!
