Is it possible to display a specific formating, lets say the color of the field font, depending on the field value?. Something similar to what it can be done with negative numbers.

You can do this using the new to v7, text formatting.

Search the Forum for Text, color, format and you should find several post about this.

Is there a way to do this in v5.5?

I want to either change the color of font or field background conditional of the word within it on a certain report.

In versions prior to 7, you have to do this by overlaying your field on a global field, and then changing the color using a calculation.

There are several discussions on how to do this on the forum, do a search for Background, Color and Calculation. [color:blue]+background +color +calculation Include the pluses, and you should find what you are asking.
