Notepad data insertion thru button

Featured Replies

I have attached a file that explains what I am trying to achieve.

I want to insert through the press of a button the [color:red]time, name and user into the notepad field in a different colour than the main text.

Please help. I am a new user to Filemaker so please be gentle when explaining.

Thanks in advance

M

PS - If there are other ways of doing this then that would be OK

Hi

try this

NoteP.zip

I think this will become quite unmanageable in a very short time. I'd suggest you use a related table for the notes, where each note will have its own record. You can create new notes automatically by typing into the last row of a portal.

Hello

I have just tried the notepad zip you sent me and it works great.Just what I needed.

Thanks

Martin

Could you provide an example of how this is done? I am also new to FileMaker, and I am trying to do the same thing.

I am trying to have a portal on the screen that I can type into, and it will also "auto enter" the date that the note was typed.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.
