"Free rotation" of fields?

Is there a way to "freely rotate" text fields? I have a layout that follows an arced path (seating assignments) and want to rotate name fields to follow the varying degrees of the arc. I can only get the fields to rotate by 1/4 turns. Does anyone know a solution?

Thanks,

Thanks, ender. I was afraid of this. Seems to me a free rotation would not be beyond FMP's capabilities, if it can do ANY rotation, but I guess they have just not seen a need to make this happen.

I DO appreciate your response. Thanks again.

It's posible but you need a plugin:

...provided that containerfields are alright for your seatings. I've made you a tiny template that requires that you have downloaded and installed the plugin.

Søren,

So, I would need the plug-in, and then replace all my fields with containers? Right now, I have the entry of text for the fields as pull-down menus (I have many names). Is this still possible?

What the scripting does is that it turns a text value into .gif image and rotates it in a containerfield.

So I would make a related file with a two keys CustomerID and Angle a table with 3-4 images of each name rotated in specific angles. So when you use the pull-down in customers will it lookup/tunnel the correct image according the the seats angle. You should be able to deny access to the image but lead your user to the pull down when clicking the seat.

To save time will it be pretty convenient to make the series of rotations at the time when a new customers name is entered.

I've noted that you're OS X so this could be an inexpensive alternative - but requirering your spit and polish instead:
