Hi All,

I was wondering if it is possible to create a backup of the DB file and not overwrite the file. I want to be able keep of a log of the changes.

Do you mean backups done by FileMaker Server? In that case check out the "More Backups" article on my web site (www.connectingdata.com, downloads section).

From FMP; all "specify output file" dialogs in scripts can take a variable instead of a hard coded path & filename. So your script needs to produce a variable with a unique name and away you go.

Im using FMP7 but i don't seem to see any option to variable the the filename to be copied to. How do you do it?
