When I set to auto enter a time and date,(Define Database) the time is 14 hours advanced from my system time. I've looked for any kind of setting in FMP and can find nothing.

Anyone know what's up??

Thanks,

Mel

From the online help:

The format of the result depends on the date and time formats that were in use when the database file was created. You can change the date and time formats in the Regional Settings Control Panel (Windows 2000), the Date and Time Control Panel (Windows XP), or the Date & Time System Preference (Mac OS).

Thanks for the reply Lee.

The "format" of the time and date is not the problem I'm having. It's the Actual Time And Date.

For example:

I have a "Date Record Created" and "Time Record Created" field.

I set these two fields to Auto-Enter.

If I create a record on 3-2-2006 at 6:00 PM then immediately check it, the date and time are

3-3-2006 at 8:00 AM.

14 Hours later than the actual file creation.

Obviously, I've checked my system time and formats but everything seems to be correct on my machine.

I can't imagine where FM is coming up with this time and date.

Thanks for all the help!

I do not laugh at files. Some GUI's color combinations have been known to turn my stomic however. :giggle:

:hair: They work correctly on my machine.

Adding a new record gave me the correct date and time.

I also "Inserted" the Date and Time into an existing record and it also was correct.

Well I guess it's something on my machine somewhere. But my date and time are set correctly. This morning I set my time BACK 14 hours and then it posted the correct time and date.

I'll keep digging.

Not 8.0.v2?

I'm not sure that this has anything to do with it, but you might upgrade your version. Also, I still think this is a system thing, have you restarted your computer in any of this. Are you using any third party plugins, }:(

Okay, first upgrade your copy of FM to 8.0.2.

I'm not familiar with that plugin, are you using it in this solution? Is it compatible with Advance?

Did you have a Demo Copy of v8 installed prior to installing Advance? There was a problem with that discussed not long ago.

I just finished upgrading to 8.0.2.

Yes I had a demo copy running before I puchased it. I wasn't aware that could be a problem.

The plugin just triggers an event upon exit of a calculation field but it is not running while the date and time fields are getting updated.

Can you point me in the direction of this "demo version" problem?

Thanks,

Hi

I was seeing at the SAVE script of your file...

There are some were you want to save the date and the time...

Go to check that too !

A new file wasn't needed...

only to say you to check those script steps...

My system show the correct time and date too.

Thinking that maybe there was a problem with installing FMP8 Adv over the trial, I just uninstalled filemaker and reinstalled it, then upgraded it to FMP8V2.

Sorry to report, no change. When I figure it out I'll post it. I must be jinxed. It seems like I'm the one that always runs across the problems that no one has ever heard of.

Oh, Well.....

I AINT GIVING UP!!

Thanks so much for all your efforts!

The plugin just triggers an event upon exit of a calculation field but it is not running while the date and time fields are getting updated.

ScriptFire makes more and more...

and what it does is related to your problem; it can fire a script to a previously setted hour, day, week, month and year (for example)

Try to disinstall that plugin (just to try...how knows ?) }:(

I've narrowed it down to my computer specifically. After the both of you got the correct time and date on your computers I loaded filemaker on my wifes computer and ran it on hers. She gets the correct time and date also. I just wish I had a clue on where to look next.

Thanks,

I am NOT Windows competent, and I only read the post I mention above. (I don't even remember the exact details of the post either). All I remember is that the poster cured their problem by trashing a Preference File or something in the System Folder.

A XP expert will have to narrow it down for you.
