Genx Posted April 14, 2006 Posted April 14, 2006 Technically, because this is setable in script maker, it is a valid topic. Anywho, my question is this. When you have a blank menu set (or any menu set it seems) the tools menu is always there. Anyway to get rid of it? Cheers, ~Genx
LaRetta Posted April 14, 2006 Posted April 14, 2006 If you View - Toolbars and select which you want to display on command (either or both) while in layout and save it, then ... Script in Miscellaeous - Allow Toolbars - script to toggle on or off. Play with it before responding ...
Genx Posted April 14, 2006 Author Posted April 14, 2006 Righto, ummm, the problem was that i was in advanced, and apparently, there is no way to disallow that menu in advanced. ~Genx
Genx Posted April 14, 2006 Author Posted April 14, 2006 No clue.. I tried what you said, and tried toggling between allowing tool bars on and off, no difference, the Tools menu just won't go away. :o
LaRetta Posted April 14, 2006 Posted April 14, 2006 What do you consider the toolbars, Genx? Can you show a gif of what you mean? Because the Toolbars are the second (standard) and third (text formatting) bars at the top.
Genx Posted April 14, 2006 Author Posted April 14, 2006 No i didnt mean tool bars, i meant the Tools menu i.e. next to File etc. ~Genx
SteveB Posted April 15, 2006 Posted April 15, 2006 I haven't used Filemaker's Custom Menus since they released them, but I remmeber being able to remove the tools menu, either through Account Priveleges, or when you make a runtime. However, to me the bigger problem and a show stopper is trying to stop FM from putting 'Exit' on the 1st menu. After spending a lot of time, I gave up and went back to Dacon's Menu Control, which offers more features and is easier to use...worth every penny. Steve
Genx Posted April 15, 2006 Author Posted April 15, 2006 I'm not really worried so much about the quit, but like i said the problem goes away within FM Pro vs Advanced so i'm not really worried anymore. Cheers for help, ~Genx
