Dana G Posted April 20, 2006 Posted April 20, 2006 I'm feeling a bit stupid for asking this but I have never had to do it. I am having a the makers of a plug-in troubleshoot my problems with their product and they have asked me to send them a clone of our file with no data/records. I have our backed up files but obviously they are full of data. The database they need to look at is tied to two others. I guess I need to send them all three. Also, how do I give full access if they have to use a password. Thanks for helping with my problem!
Inky Phil Posted April 20, 2006 Posted April 20, 2006 Hi Dana File menu>Save a copy as> and at the bottom of the new window you will find a pop up list that will allow you to nominate a clone Phil
Dana G Posted April 20, 2006 Author Posted April 20, 2006 The "Save copy as..." is greyed out. I assume that means that the file can not be open and hosted by our server while I'm trying to do this. Thanks for the "how to". I'll shut down the file and try again. I appreciate the help! :D
Dana G Posted April 20, 2006 Author Posted April 20, 2006 OK that worked beautifully! Since they only need the one layout, I can delete all non-pertinent layouts, scripts, etc. and it won't create any problems, correct?
Inky Phil Posted April 20, 2006 Posted April 20, 2006 One would assume so. Why don't you make a copy of your new clone, strip out what you think you can and test it before you send it off. That way if it doesn't work you will have a full clone to have another go with just in case you remove something you shouldn't Phil
Dana G Posted April 21, 2006 Author Posted April 21, 2006 That's a good idea Phil. Thank you very much!!
