When I have the 'view object size box' open if I key in 0 pixels from the top and 0 pixels from the left it defaults to 12 from the top and 17 from the left.

This is not a problem cos the object appears to go right into the top left hand corner but I am just curious as to why I cannot get it to accept a '0'

This is due to the margin settings for the layout.

Although you are seeing your object at the top-most and left-most postition the object info is being displayed as absolute and not relative to the layout margins.

if you set the layout margins to be fixed margins and set the top and left to zero, then you can enter zero in the object info box.
