Newbies olbaparal Posted October 6, 2001 Newbies Share Posted October 6, 2001 Hi... Kinda' new here and also using FM. I've had found this software very easy to use and manipulate... Our company is currently dealing with FM to create a database management software for educational institutions. However, I would like to know if there is any way to hide the menu bar. I found the scripts to toggle the tools, etc. but I can't find anything about hiding the bar that contains FILE, EDIT, etc. I was hoping to give our soft a more professional look by using FM but as a platform and not visible to users. Is there anyone out there that knows how to?
Anatoli
You can disable the functionality and there are some plugins...
SteveB
There is a plugin called SecureFM that will allow you to remove individual items off any of the menus, or remove all the menus. Go to www.fmplugins.com and search under interface. The company name is New Millenium Software (I think). I've used it and it works. Better than removing the menus, have you considered doing a Kiosk? Newbies macyogi Posted March 27, 2002 Newbies Share Posted March 27, 2002 If you have a developer version you could create a runtime solution or kiosk solution which does not have that "dreaded" filemaker look. TIM
Newbies derbuch Posted April 5, 2002 Newbies Share Posted April 5, 2002 Sorry to disappoint you but the runtime version does not remove the toolbar except for in the kiosk mode! - A. Derbuch
Steven H. Blackwell
Tjere are several plug-ins to accomplish this, inclufing SecureFM from New Millennium at: http://www.newmillennium.com Alos, both Dacon's and Comm-Unity have new plug-ins that control menus. FWIW, many of these do not work on OS X because of the radically different nature of that system. HTH Old Advance Man
