1616 Posted May 18, 2006 Posted May 18, 2006 (edited) Ok i have the following two tables. Member(Name,Country,Points,Ranking,Season ID) Seasons(Name,Comment,Season ID) I have also created a self link from season to season based on Season ID,using a second occurence/copy of the season table(Seasonscopy).I changed the relationship from '=' to 'x'(ie match all records.) I have assigned members to various seasons then created a portal to show related records from member. However the portal isnt showing any data and i dont know why, ive done this exact thing in FMP7 before and it worked fine. What went wrong Edited May 18, 2006 by Guest
mz123 Posted May 18, 2006 Posted May 18, 2006 Do you have a sample file? Make sure that the portal and the fields are coming from the same table occurrence.
1616 Posted May 19, 2006 Author Posted May 19, 2006 Yeah here it is, thanks alot Morlord_Database.zip
Genx Posted May 19, 2006 Posted May 19, 2006 I don't know, if no data is being shown at all its either a) as MMS6F mentioned above incorrect table occurance referencing (check both the fields AND the portal) or : your actual layout is attached to a different table occurance than your relationships are running through or c) there is something wrong with your relationships. I hate this laptop... no tide key sigh. Genx
Genx Posted May 19, 2006 Posted May 19, 2006 Im trying to register a member for a season, but it gives me an error that the tables missing and i can't find the layout to do so. Where do you actually add the players to the seasons?
1616 Posted May 19, 2006 Author Posted May 19, 2006 The first layout called member points, using the checkbox which uses a value list using the season id field.
Genx Posted May 19, 2006 Posted May 19, 2006 Double Click the portal. Note that you have set the initial row to be 15 (i didn't even know this was an option). Set the initial row to be row 1, this should fix your problem.
