sparling Posted June 5, 2001 Posted June 5, 2001 I've been using instant web publishing with a couple databases. Everything's been fine until today when an Access Denied message appeared when a person submitted a record. I checked the settings in the web companion to confirm that Filemaker access privileges were set (which they were), but when I went to the "file>access privileges" menu, all three choices are greyed out. I can't seem to find a way to activate them again. Any ideas?
DykstrL Posted June 6, 2001 Posted June 6, 2001 It kinda sounds like someone changed some passwords in the file. Either that or the file is open on another computer - you cannot access the access privileges when guests are logged onto the file.
Vaughan Posted June 6, 2001 Posted June 6, 2001 It might be a database corruption, or program problem. Check the hard disk for errors. Use the recover command on the file and see if that helps. Check the FileMaker Inc web site for program patches (might be a bug). Try deleting the FileMaker preferences file (if on a Mac) and reconfiguring the system again. Try re-installing FileMaker Pro. Open a known-working backup of the database and see if the problem persists. If it does, it's a FMP application error. If not, it's a database error.
