Criteria using Variables, Can it be done?

Featured Replies

Maybe I am just missing something, but is it possible to use a variable when setting the criteria for a Perform Find[Restore] step in a script.

For example, Stock::Description:[=$Cur_Strategy], where $Cur_Strategy is a variable set in the current script.

Thanks,

Bill

Hey!

You have to do the following:

Enter Find Mode

Set field [ Stock::Description; $Cur_Strategy ]

Perfrom Find

That should do it.

Thanks, I keep forgetting about using find mode in a script.

The problem is that now it does not matter if I select Perform without dialog, I have to click Find either way to finish the script.

It works after I click Find, but the point of using the script is to automate such steps, right?

bdonelson,

Look at your find script step - Do you have the Pause checkbox checked? If you used the script that Martha suggested, you shouldn't have to click a button.

That's what I would have thought.

The Enter Find Mode [] step has neither Pause or Specify find requests checked.

The Perform Find/Replace [No dialog] step has Perform without dialog checked.

Needless to say, I am a little bit confused.

Ahh, there's the problem. Use Perform Find and NOT Perform Find/Replace. The Perform Find script step is the first one under FOUND SETS.

Thanks, That did it.

Thanks Again
