Newbies freddacat Posted June 24, 2001 Newbies Share Posted June 24, 2001 I am helping to move a FM DB that was created with 3.0 from a MAC to PC Version. When DB was created back in '96 the creator put a "master" PW into play. This was never documented and nobody remembers what it is... Question is... does anybody know a way around the pw or am I just totally @#$#$%! This db is one of the better ones I have seen, getting at the data is easy enough, but I would hate to lose all the forms and "switchboards" If there is anybody out there with a solution or workaround... please help, Thanks [email protected]

DykstrL
FileMaker Inc. can extract and/or change the password(s) in a file. They usually charge a nominal fee, but I don't know what it is. If you have a site license, box set licnese, or subscription license, they will sometimes do it for free. You will need to prove that you "own" the file and are authorized full access to the file.
