FM-Monster Posted June 15, 2006 Posted June 15, 2006 I am trying to take a date, that could be any day of a particular month, and use a calculation that will determine the first day of the month that the date falls in. For example if the user enters 6/16/06 the calculatin will result in 6/1/06 (the first day of the month). Please help if you can...
scolesm Posted June 15, 2006 Posted June 15, 2006 This should work as a calculation of type Date: Date ( Month ( Entered Date ); 1; Year ( Entered Date )) Where Entered Date is the Date field you want to alter. Does this work?
FM-Monster Posted June 15, 2006 Author Posted June 15, 2006 Yes it did!!! Thanks scolesm... Some day I will figure out all this FM stuff. Thanks a million.
Søren Dyhr Posted June 15, 2006 Posted June 15, 2006 But this seems a bit easier to write: EnteredDate + 1 - Day ( EnteredDate ) Perhaps the following, could restore the image of being just slightly crafty: EnteredDate - Day ( EnteredDate-1 ) It's political science here, not just one cut but two, it shows willingness to be executive even when it hurts --sd
scolesm Posted June 16, 2006 Posted June 16, 2006 Yes, you're completely right about this. I didn't need to reference that many fields in the calculation. Better solution, M
