Newbies pekk Posted September 24, 2001 Newbies Posted September 24, 2001 Do you know of any plugin (or...) solutions that uses the power of PGP to encrypt, protect FM files ?
LiveOak Posted September 24, 2001 Posted September 24, 2001 There is a plug-in that encripts data in fields. I don't believe the encription is as good as PGP, so if you are hiding information from the government, it can be broken. Take a look at www.filemaker.com and use the plug-in search. -bd [ September 24, 2001: Message edited by: LiveOak ]
BobWeaver Posted September 24, 2001 Posted September 24, 2001 PGP supports 3 different encryption algorithms: IDEA, CAST and Triple DES. If any of these algorithms have been broken, there would be a lot more encryption software than just PGP rendered useless. That's not to say that it couldn't happen, but I'm skeptical. I'd still trust PGP as the best encryption package that the average civilian has access to.
Anatoli Posted September 25, 2001 Posted September 25, 2001 I believe PGP was broken by two Czech Mathematics. 3-5 month ago.
Anatoli Posted September 25, 2001 Posted September 25, 2001 It is something wrong with OpenPGP Protocol. So it is affected also the GNU Privacy Guard. More in Czech at http://www.novinky.cz/Index/Internet/7233.html
