There is a plug-in that encripts data in fields. I don't believe the encription is as good as PGP, so if you are hiding information from the government, it can be broken. Take a look at www.filemaker.com and use the plug-in search.

PGP supports 3 different encryption algorithms: IDEA, CAST and Triple DES. If any of these algorithms have been broken, there would be a lot more encryption software than just PGP rendered useless. That's not to say that it couldn't happen, but I'm skeptical. I'd still trust PGP as the best encryption package that the average civilian has access to.
