Defining Valuelists based on input values

Featured Replies

hi!

i got a database with a valuelist for different interests that i want to link ta another valuelist in the same table. depending on what value you choose from the first valuelist, different value (are suppose to) appear in the other valuelist. for example:

sports --> basketball

crafts --> arts

that is, if i choose sports arts should not appear. ive got all the valuelista and field defined, i just need to link them. am i suppose to use a linking within the same table?

thanks...

Look up "conditional value lists" here in the Forums and in FMP HElp.

hue? where do i find that? i tried searching, but that came up dry..

GO to the Menu Bar and select [color:blue]SEARCH.

Choose [color:red]Advance Search

Click on the [color:blue]Question mark by the Title [color:blue]Keywords

This explains how to narrow down your searches.

In your case, you will want to do a search for the Keywords of

[color:blue]+Conditional +Value +List

[color:red]Notice that I have included the [color:red]pluses, as they are key to narrowing your search for post that contain these [color:blue]three words.

BTW, [color:blue]Conditional Value List has sometimes been called [color:blue]Dynamic Value Lists
