variables can be display without a field

Forgive me if everybody already knows this but I didn't.

I am only just getting to grips with the wonderful world of variables.

Roaming round the forum I was under the impression that globals could only be used for storing info and that a field would have to be created to display the info.

Whilst that is true if one wants to show the variable on a layout I have just discovered that a variable or variables can be displayed in a custom dialogue and can be formatted along with other text in a message of up to 4 lines.

See attached for example.

You never know when it might come in handy

Glad it was of interest.

Ohgo, It was the fact that the variable was viewable in the data viewer that made me look for alternative ways of displaying it.
