I am about to do some work on a database for someone which was created and is used in Filemaker Pro 6.

I will be completing the work in Filemaker Pro 8.

Will I be able to reload this database once the changes are made back into Filemaker Pro 6?

Sorry, FM8 is NOT backward compatible with FM6 and below. You'll either need to upgrade the client or downgrade yourself. :

I have tried to get them upgrade to v8 and they jsut won't budge :

Is there anywhere I can purchase or get a trial version of v6??

Is v7 backwards compat to v6?

FM6 is not compatible with 7 or 8.

Your client obviuosly has FM6 licence(s), they should permit you a copy of theirs for the development work.
