insert image from url

Featured Replies

is it possible to insert an image from a URL?

Manually yes, not through a script.

If it needs to be scripted, you'll need to use OS level scripting or a plugin to grab the image from the remote location and then insert it. On OSX it can be done through AppleScript and the command line "curl". On Windows it can be done through a VBscript calling on IE.

This is an AppleScript method, which writes the URL of the picture to a temporary file, then uses FileMaker 8's Set Variable to Insert Picture (embedded).

It also has an AppleScript droplet, to import any image file dropped on it. That was there in the file first, so I left it.
