Can some one give me a quick break down on the View As feature under window in script maker?

Hoping to get a quick breakdown of this new function and its purpose.

Thanks in advance.

Have you looked at the Online Help. I started to respond to your question, and decided to read what was in it first, and discovered that I was stating the same thing.

If you have done this, then I'm not clear as to what you are asking, so maybe you can clarify it for me.

Well I Looked it up and i Know its for displaying data, im just wondering what the script step was added for, what they had in mind when it was thought up. Is it just for displaying data in different formats in a new window or was it designed for another purpose utilizing some other new features?

Personally, I never use this script step. I believe it is best to design a layout specifically for form, list or table view instead of trying to make a layout multi-functional. There are just too many differences between a form and list view. It's akin to the idea that your print and screen layouts should be different layouts even if they contain the same fields. There are just too many other differences to merge them into a multi-functional print and view layout.

I've used in in a billing report situation. The form view was easier to read and enter, and the Table View was easier to sort and compare and catch duplicate time/activity by staff and clients. I choose cycle as the script step, and removed the List View in the Layout Setup so that it wasn't in the cycle. A button on the layout (Header) allowed the quick movement back and forth. I also ad a sort step when they went to the Table View.

Other than that, I agree with Mark on limiting the use of it.
