genevieve charbon Posted July 26, 2006 Posted July 26, 2006 I've a FMP7 server on windows 2003, Use FMP 8v3 client (but also 7 client and its the same) When I am in my solution and quit fmp, it takes ages to quit (40s at least) with heavy network traffic (>900Kb/s). There's no script to do on quit, I'm wondering what's that amount of chat and if there's anything I can do about it
Steven H. Blackwell Posted July 26, 2006 Posted July 26, 2006 Are you running any closing scripts? What is the cache setting on FileMaker Server? What is the cache setting on the FIleMAker pro client at the workstation? Steven
genevieve charbon Posted July 26, 2006 Author Posted July 26, 2006 (edited) No closing script but caches is to the max on the client and on the server Edited July 26, 2006 by Guest
Wim Decorte Posted July 27, 2006 Posted July 27, 2006 Any plugins? Could there be a great number of uncommitted records?
Vaughan Posted July 27, 2006 Posted July 27, 2006 The maximum cache size is not necessarily the optimum cache size. Use the remote admin tool to look at your server statistics. Reduce the server cache size to produces a 95% cache hit rate. The cache unsaved value refers to the frequency that the cache is flushed (there is a FM Server setting for cache flush) and not dirctly to the cache size itself. Reducing the cache size also speeds up the cache flush too.
Steven H. Blackwell Posted July 27, 2006 Posted July 27, 2006 but caches is to the max on the client and on the server As a general rule, 12 MB cache on the client is sufficient. Steven
