Having a look for the first time at an auto importing script.

FM is asking me to nominate a character set for the import. These sets seem to be predominately platform related.

Since my solution may be used on either platform can anyone advise on what might be the best setting?

Well Yes but.......

I am about to distribute my solution as a runtime and I am writing the script that will allow the user to import their data into any update that I send them.

Since I will not know which platform they will be running it on how would you make your choice in advance. I am trying to make this as easy as possible for them (1 button if poss.) as they will not be tech types

I must be missing something here: wouldn't the import be from a Filemaker file? I believe the character set option is avaiable only when importing from text files.

Ah... I hadn't got that far.

I was just exploring my options when it showed up and I thought I had better check sooner rather than later.
