How can I extract data form Memo Files .DBT

Hi all,

I have a Memo file that I need to extract, this file is from our old database clipper. I'm trying to migrate our old system to filemaker, but i am having a hard time extracting text from the memo files.

The file enclosed did open up in version 8, but I don't think that it would be very useful the way it is.

You need to examine the File Formats that FileMaker can Import, and choose an export format to match one of them.

To see what formats that FileMaker will read, do a search in the Online Help (when FileMaker is open) for File Format.

I can open the file using textedit, but to much garbage character.

Can I script it using applescript?

You would be better off re exporting the file from the other database application in a format that FileMaker can import. I usually look for a Text Format such as Tab, or comma Separated.
