I need to find or have developed an Applescript that will Quit Filemaker Server. This includes Closing all Files and Disconnecting all users. The Applescript will be activated from a program that works with a UPS Unit when the Power has been cut. Right now the UPS Software waits a certain number of minutes then it starts the shutdown process. Since Filemaker Server 5.0 is running when the computer shuts down all of the databases have to be checked for consistency problems when Filemaker is restarted. Does any one have any ideas on where I can find a Apple Script like this or information on a developer who can create a script like this. Thanks for any help.

The UPS Software allows execution of an Applescript then it waits a certain number of minutes then it appears to shut off power. Based upon your response I will try to develop a applescript to shutdown the computer thus closing Filemaker Server. I would still like to have an Applescript to Quit Filemaker server to use at other times. If you are aware of one I would appreciate any information that you might have on obtaining it. Thanks.

You are correct. Your script was all that was needed. When I started developing the Applescript I thought that I was going to have to deal with all of the steps that occur when to do a Quit of Filemaker Server and guest are connected. First you get the message box to send to guests to warn them to close Filemaker or at least the Message "Quit Filemaker" with the OK and Cancel Box's. Trying to script these items made it difficult but as your script showed me, these items are not required to Quit Filemaker Server.

Simple is the best solution.

I need to learn a lot more about Applescript. Thanks for your help.
