I would like to create a database to create budgets and print budgets for clients. I need to figure out how to set up categories, subcategories, sub-sub categories, etc.

For instance, account # 2000 might be "Office"

2000.3 might be Copier supplies, and 2000.3.2 might be "Copier Paper", 2000.3.3 might be "Copier Ink", etc.

Any ideas?

You might start with laying out the overall database structure, and then decide on a numbering system based on what you see there.
