Problem with Date Field

Hi All

I am having a weird problem. I have a date field named "activityDate". This field has been formatted to display date as "dd/mm/yyyy". I use this field in a Portal. The problem is when I click on this field and enter a date and then exit out of this field, it changes month to day and day to month. Eg: if I enter 11/12/2006 for 11th, dec, 2006, then it gets changed to 12/11/2006 when I exit the field. It works fine if "dd" has a number greater then 12.

Any help would be greatly appreciated....

Formatting the display of a field does not affect data entry.
