Is it possible to link directly to a record? something like fmnet:/server/filename/table/record

I am not using any sort of FileMaker webhosting. I would like to send an email with a link to a specific FileMaker record.

That would be very handy but I don't think it is possible. On Windows machines you can place a link on a web page or email body that will open a hosted database but it won't take them to a specific layout and record. Here's what the link looks like:

I don't know if it works on a Mac. I suspect it does.

On Mac you can insert the table and ID of the record in the text of the message and then have some AppleScript to find this ID in a message, open FileMaker® and find the record.
