hi,

I shared my DB through instant web publishing, but how come I can't put any files into the container fields. Are the container fields not supported in web publishing? Thanks in advance!

Let's take it the way it's told in Special Edition Using Filemaker 8:

There is no capability to import or export data from an IWP session, in general, any action that interacts with another application, the file system, or the operating system is not possible via IWP.

Although you might get away (I'm nowhere certain!!!) with the new webviewer to launch some javascript that calls some OSASCRIPT on OS X machines, but it's going to get pretty complicated and not least hairy when all platform permutations should be covered!
