Newbies eince Posted October 6, 2006 Newbies Posted October 6, 2006 I hope this is the correct area to post this question. I have looked around and cannot find anyone else with this question. I recently purchased Filemaker Pro 8.5 for the Mac. In transferring my database from my old FilemakerPro 3...to 8.5, in certain fields a zero is added to the calculated number (ie: 14 becomes 140). It does not do this in all calculations. Any suggestions?
CoZiMan Posted October 6, 2006 Posted October 6, 2006 Ummm, I think more info about the files/fields will help. Calcs can be confusing unless the data type is specified AND results are specified as well and there may need to be some work done on the original data to make it 'normalized' for the upgrade. I would suggest exporting and importing rather than 'upgrading' the file. This will normalize the data, hopefully, and you can use a previously generated 'Upgrade' file with no records to check all the calculation fields, scripts, etc. The differences between the two versions is HUGE! Congratulations on the upgrade.
