SoCalMacDude
Does anyone have a way to start Server 5.5 on MacOSX after the computer boots? I would like to use Energy Saver to shut down at 1:00am, then start up at 5:00 am, use Login items in Accounts preference panel to start Filemaker Server Config, but then how do I click the "Start Server" button unattended??? I would like to refresh the databases to reset the Today function, as well as having a daily reboot to refresh everything :-).
Wim Decorte
check the FMS command line: it has a start command. You'll find all the info in the FMS manual.
SoCalMacDude
Thanks. Does that require Terminal, and a shell script? I have since solved my problem using QuickKeys. Works like a charm, BUT IT WAS $80!
Wim Decorte
Not only that, QuickKeys requires a user to be logged in right? Not good security for a server. You can use a shell script and cron, or use a DoShell command in Applescript if you're more proficient in that.
