portal within a portal?

Featured Replies

ivve just read anothr post that says this isnt possible :

but whats the answer?

basically i have a portal of contacts who work for a company on the 'companies' layout.

because a single contact may have many phone numbers and there can be lots of contacts i created another table for contact numbers.

so basically i want to be able to see (on companies layout) all contacts and all thier phone numbers.

lil help?

p.s. if ur confused by all the fields in the 'contacts database dev' table its because im working with a 5year old DB, jus updated to 8.5 and im giving it a major functionality overhaul and the data is currently in that table.

You can display contacts of company within portal. But for company telephone numbers you have two options:

- you can create a button in contacts portal to show telephone numbers in small new window ( shows all telephone numbers )

- for second option you create repeating field for telephone numbers with about 5 or more repetitions and display it in contacts portal ( telephone numbers that are showed ( and entered ) are limited by number of repetitions )

Place a portal to ContactNumbers on the Companies layout. Take a name field from the Contacts table and place it in the portal.
