Hi,

I would like to know if it is possible to use ODBC drivers to connect to a FMP 8.0 DB without Filemaker server. If so where do I begin?

You need to install the DataDirect ODBC drivers that came on your FMP CD. Then you can create a DSN connection to the database like any other DSN you'd create.
