Hi,

I'm working on an already implemented FM DB. I know that in Access or SQL we can change from number to text without losing any content. Is it also true in FM? Can I change a number field to a text one without losing any contents?

Yes you can. This is not an unusal thing, a lot of things we call numbers, will start as a number field, and then turn out to be a combination of text and numbers (i.e. phone numbers, Client ID number, etc.), which really makes the a text field.

Just be aware that true numbers will sort differently in a text field. It will also effect your finds.
