Problems running Server and Unlimited v 5 (for web access) on the same Win2k Server

We are struggling with a problem, where we are running BOTH FMP Server and Unlimited (version 5) on the same Win2k Server box. Our objective is to allow both standard TCP/IP network access to a database AND also serve it on the web. I understand this is not a desirable setup (i.e. we should use 2 servers, but want to avoid this if possible).

When we try to open the databases in Unlimited, when it is already opened by Server, we get the following message...

' Error Message:

You cannot open already opened database.

Unlimited has to connect via HOST button.

In any case -- you are asking for big trouble. You may loose your databases or data. In the Book it is strictly No-No.
