After having read other posts in this forum regarding the setup of a custom IWP home page, I think I find myself with missing pieces of the puzzle...

I am hosting FM files with FMSA8, but I can't find anything under the FMS Application folder that looks like the .app package which contains the iwp_home.html file. I also looked in the /Library/WebServer/Documents directory (forgot to mention I'm working on a Mac OS X Server) but found nothing there. I do find such a package listed under the FileMaker Pro 8 Applications folder, but editing the iwp_home.html file therein had no effect on the page displayed by going to the IWP URL.

In the FM8_Instant_Web_Publishing.pdf file, (pg. 16) I read this:

Note: If you are hosting databases with FileMaker Server Advanced, place the custom home page in the FileMaker Server/Web Publishing/iwp folder.

Sounds easy enough, but that folder doesn't exist!

Any ideas?

I had the same problem -- and even after I created the folder, FMS wouldn't recognize the file. The solution was to edit the files within the app itself (right-click and choose "show package contents").
