How do you set up a table of images? I have a list of students and I would like to set up a photosheet of the class...just a table of pictures. I found the portal allows me to do a single and then another below...I would like them to be 3-4 across (columns ) and then 8 rows.

For the life of me I cannot figure out how to do that in filemaker. :B

Maybe if you forget the portal and set up a new layout in the style of mailing labels (use the new layout wizard), instead of having address fields, use the container fields that have your photos.

If you are using the portal to filter out unwanted records, e.g. people in other classes, you'll need to perform a find each time you want to get a certain group of students on your photosheet.

You have the right idea.

Use a portal specified for the first 3 records,

then make ANOTHER portal below the first showing the NEXT 3 (4-6).

Or any other number, row sequenxce you want.

It's a grid you specify by portal display count.

You can even run the rows across! Spec the portal for 1 record, then duplicate it across for each subsequent record.

Here's an example.
