Need Field (Checkbox) To Prevent Record From Printing

Featured Replies

I would like to place a checkbox field that, when selected, would prevent the current record from printing when printing in the "Records Being Browsed" mode. Thanks for any help.l

Forget my post I read it wrong. Sooory.

Why not use the Omit Script Step with a Button. You could use the Checkbox as the button too.

Appreciate the help. If I understand the OmitStep Script correctly, it would omit the record from a given set of records thereby preventing printing of the record. While this is what I have been doing manually, it would be advantageous to maintain the record visible in the list and somehow suppress printing.

I wish you hadn't removed your answer, as I think you had it right.

I do not think you can keep the records active during the printing.

If the found set = All Records, you can create a script that finds the unchecked records and omits them during the printing, and then finds all records afterwards.

Freeze Window

Perform Find [ Specified Find Requests: Omit Records; Criteria: CheckBoxOmit::Mark: "X" ]

[ Restore ]

Print [ ]

Show All Records

Take a look at the attached file. You can just loop through the found set and print only those that are marked for printing. Afterwards the foundset with all records is still available for viewing.

I thought that was your script.
