Need to create Highlight from Portal selction

Featured Replies

I don't know if this is a script question or a Portal question.

I want to create a portal to show a brief summary of related records, that I can do easy enough. But, I want the user to be able to click an icon inside the portal row that will cause all the details of the related record to show up in a "highlight" box to the right of the portal in the same layout window.

Any ideas?

Regards,

Patrick

See if this helps.

A global referenced to another childTO through the related. Got it. Thanks! I knew there had to be a simple solution, I simply wasn't sure where to begin looking.

Thank you for your help.

It doesn't HAVE to be global - you can also store a selected child per parent, if you prefer.

But the global will allow it to be more 'dynamic' correct? Meaning, if there is 7 records in the portal to the left of the highlight box then whichever the user selects will appear in the highlight.

Pat

I am not sure what you mean by "more 'dynamic'". The global will make it global - if you move to another parent record, it will keep displaying the selected child, even if it's not related to the current parent.
