December 15, 200619 yr Hi Guys I'm having a problem which I suspect is very simple to sort out. I normally use FM on a Mac, where I can easily select multiple items in a value list at the same time by using the Apple / Cmd key, then hit return to add all of those items to my choice. However, I don't appear to be able to do the same thing on a PC. This may be because I'm attempting to do it using Virtual PC running Windows XP rather than a seperate machine, but maybe someone can help? I've worked out that (on my Mac via VPC at least) I need to use Shift and Ctrl together to select multiple items, but when I select an item then try to select an item below it in the list, it deselects the original item. Strangely it doesn't do this if I select an item then select another item that is above it in the list. Any ideas anyone? Thanks in advance
January 11, 200718 yr Stop holding shift and just hold Ctrl. Shift is used in windows to select a range of items. Ctrl is used to select multiple ones.
January 11, 200718 yr Hi tv_kid, it also indicates that you are using the wrong tool. At any time, a User can make a mistake or slip-of-finger and delete the prior entries. That's what checkboxes are for. :wink2:
January 11, 200718 yr Author Hi LaRetta I would prefer to use check boxes, but this is a dynamic value list with hundreds of values, so it's not really possible in this case. Cheers
