December 22, 200619 yr I have noticed that when I use IWP to publish an application, there is about 12 pixels of white space located at the top of every page. I made sure that the space wasn't there in the layout, and I'm not using a header, so I'm not sure why it's there. I coudln't seem to find a setting that would add or remove padding, like you could normally control with HTML. I have also noticed that there is about the same amount of space added to the right side of my layout as well. So, even though all my objects fit onto the page, the browser window is forced to have both horizontal and vertical scrollbars. Does anyone know a way to fix this?
December 22, 200619 yr I do not have white space at the top/side of my IWP published app in FMProA 8.5, so I assume some object or setting you have is occupying the space.
December 22, 200619 yr Just noticed you're using FM 7 - perhaps it is version specific and someone else will chime in with more info...
December 22, 200619 yr Author Sorry, allow me to update that... I actually use 8.5 Advanced, on PC, to do my developing, and we have Server 8 Advanced, on Mac OS X, for our server. I notice that I don't have the whitespace at the top on my List layouts, but all my Form layouts seem to have it.
December 22, 200619 yr Gotcha - FWIW I'm looking at my IWP app right now, looking at a Form layout, and I have a horiz line and a branding header at the top of the form, and no white space. I checked the layout, and it DOES have a header defined. So, I created a new layout with no header -> resulted in white space at the top, as you described. Then I added a header to the same test layout, and minimized its size. Resulted in a very small white space at top. I never observed the side-white-space issue. HTH! January 4, 200718 yr I looks like you have the same problem as I have worked on for over a year... http://fmforums.com/forum/showtopic.php?tid/181975/post/228563/hl// With very little responce. Today I got a confirmation from my contact person in Denmark that it was at least now noted as a bug-report at FileMaker, Inc. Now I can also confirm that it's the same problem in IE6 and IE7 on XP. Firefox is OK.
January 4, 200718 yr I had the same thing but put the header in and chose the color of the background of the layout and it all but resolved the problem. You do get a white line indicating the page break but it's better than the large white space...
March 13, 200718 yr Author To fix this, I finally decided simply to move the top area of my layout into a Header. Now, when the IWP page loads, there is no blank space at the top.
