softpac Posted January 10, 2007 Posted January 10, 2007 Hi Is it possible to copy a layout from one FM DB to another? I use FM Adv 8.5 on Win XP. Thanks
Inky Phil Posted January 10, 2007 Posted January 10, 2007 Hi softpac just open both files in two windows. Go to the layout that you want to copy. In layout mode select all (ctrl-A) and copy (crl-c). go to the other window create a new layout and once again in layout mode paste(ctrl-v). Thats it. Phil
softpac Posted January 10, 2007 Author Posted January 10, 2007 Wow! It didn't even dawn on me to do a copy/paste. I was looking for a fancy, tricky, hi tech way, but the solution was right in front of me. Thanks. I guess the only thing that this solution does not do, is the name of the layout, and the options (found in layout setup menu).
dazlunn Posted January 14, 2007 Posted January 14, 2007 ...just an additional tip. If your layout has any buttons that use the same scripts in both files then import them into the new file first or the buttons will lose their scripts. This is only for the buttons that use the 'Perform Script' option. It's a mistake I've made on many occasions! Unfortunatley...
