sijmons Posted January 14, 2007 Posted January 14, 2007 (edited) After overnight maintenance (?) with TechTool pro 4 (Mac OSX 10.4.8), two processes keep interfering with starting up my FMP files (with the error message that another file is already hosted on this computer): - fmserverd - fmserver_helperd Also as soon as I start up FMP, I see FM Web Publishin with the Activity Monitor Despite turning all settings for this off; - sharing options, - removed all sample databases from root/Library/FileMakerServer/data/databases - disabled web publishing from SystemPrefs I get tired of killing the above processes with Terminal or the Activity Monitor. More importantly, I would like to understand what is causing this, why are these processes started when I haven't run FMS or FMSA for some time? Edited January 14, 2007 by Guest
Wim Decorte Posted January 14, 2007 Posted January 14, 2007 Because the processes are configured to start when your machine boots. You can change that with the Server Admin Tool. In the menu click "Server" and then "Local FileMkaer Server Administration" There you will see the 3 startup options.
